What an adventure of a day out on Seahawk! We traversed waters that we don't typically get to venture out in, all due to beautiful weather conditions and exciting whale reports! It’s been an excellent year for Transient Killer Whales so far, and today was no exception! Recently there’s been a number of family groups hanging around the San Juan Islands, and we’ve been venturing up to Boundary Pass almost on the daily. Today we left the dock with similar reports and started our trek north.

There are stories surrounding orcas that say if we visit them in their natural realm, the sea, we'll see them as humans since they will be home and we will be the visitor. I don't know what that means the human will then look like, but I like to think of humans with permanently grinning orca faces.

Today was another typical summer Friday in Friday Harbor - sunny skies, cool breezes, and smooth waters. Capt. For the past few days, we've been meeting up with the residents on the west side of SJI, so today, when we had a report for Boundary Pass, we were excited to be able to switch things up.
