Naturalist Alexandria | M/V Sea Lion | 12:00pm | Thursday, June 6th
On this trip today we were lucky enough to see two Humpbacks off Saturna Island! We started out this trip having a pretty good lead that there was a possibility of seeing Humpbacks today. As we worked out way up we stopped and checked out Speiden Island, where we got some glances at Moufflan sheep and Sitka and Fallow deer.
We continued traveling up north and eventually met up with our humpback! After spending a bit of time with her, another Humpback appeared, and gave us some amazing looks at their flukes! It was such a cool experience to be actively watching one humpback and then be surprised by another! Especially since the second humpback allowed us to get some amazing looks at their flukes, providing us with a completely new experience while viewing this humpback!
We spent a nice afternoon on the water, looking at the humpbacks for a nice chunk of time and then slowly returning back to Friday Harbor.
