Alexandria | M/V Sea Lion | April 4th, 2019
What a beautiful day we had on the water today! The forecast suggested it might be rainy and overcast today, but as we headed out on the water the sun was out and we were ready to hit the water to see what we could find!
We started heading north up San Juan Channel deciding that it would be a beautiful day to see if there are any Sea Lions hauled out off Spieden Island. We were very excited to see that there were many waiting to greet us!
We hung out with the Steller’s for a bit, and then headed west to check out more of Spieden Island. We caught some great looks at Mouflan Sheep hanging out in the sunshine on the south side of the island, and then continued to check out some harbor seals hanging out on some rocks.
We decided to head out to Haro Strait and look and see if there were any big black and white things hanging out. As we worked our way south down the West Side of San Juan Islands we were so excited to hear rumors of some orcas off Eagle Point.
We excitedly headed down south to check them out. It turns out that as we got on scene we had the special treat of seeing the T36A’s complete with their new (and dare I say, absolutely adorable calf!)
We got some amazing looks at this family as well as the T100B’s. Our guests got lots of awesome photos and some great looks of South Beach and Cattle Point Lighthouse.
To top it off it was such a beautiful day we had awesome views of Mt. Baker, and even a distant sliver of a glimpse of Mt. Rainier. It was a picture perfect day!
Until Next Time,
