We started off our Adventure Trip by heading north through Spieden Island. To our surprise, the entire island was so lush green in just a matter of one week with the amount of rain we have gotten. We looked at Mouflon Sheep for quite a bit before heading into Haro Strait to check out the body of water to see if any whales were around. After that we headed north through John’s Pass where we saw heaps of Harbor Seals floating around and looking up at us with those huge, adorable eyes.
From there, we traveled through Boundary Pass to the northeast side of Orcas Island where we came across TWO Humpback Whales- Heather and Raptor! They were traveling together averaging about 5-6-minute dives. We received incredible views and at one point even got mugged at the stern! This allowed us to not only see how big they were but listen to that blow out of their two blow holes as the engine was shut off letting them do their thing.
On our way home, we traveled between Orcas, Lopez, and Shaw Islands seeing so many Harbor Porpoises everywhere. The sun even started to come out after a rainy morning, making this the most aesthetically pleasing end to our trip!
